Who Orders Your Labs

Your Psychiatrist Orders and Reviews Your Labs

Lab work here is part of your psychiatric care, not a separate service. Dr. Shehram Majid and his team order the labs that fit your history and review the results with you. We do not process labs in our office. We send the order to Labcorp, Quest, or a local lab where you get the draw done.

We order lab work at intake and again during care when symptoms do not add up. The goal is simple. We rule out medical causes so your treatment fits what is actually going on.

Why Lab Work Matters in Psychiatry

Hormonal Causes of Anxiety and Depression

How a thyroid, vitamin, or hormone issue can drive symptoms that look psychiatric.

A symptom is not always what it looks like. Fatigue can look like depression. Restlessness can look like anxiety. Trouble focusing can look like ADHD. In some cases the real driver is a thyroid issue, low vitamin D or B12, or a hormone change.

Lab work helps tell these apart. When we know your numbers, we can treat the right problem instead of guessing. Labs identify medical contributors to psychiatric symptoms. They are not sold as a cure.

After Your Results

Hormone Evaluation for Mood Disorders: What Results Mean

What we do once your numbers come back.

Mild findings we can support: we handle it as part of your care, which may include changes to sleep, diet, activity, or a supplement where it fits.

Findings that need specialist care: we refer you to the right provider, such as an endocrinologist or your primary care doctor. We do not prescribe hormone medication at this time.

Either way: you leave with a clear picture and a plan.

Insurance and Cost

In-Network Care, With Clear Pricing

CIP Psychiatry is in network with seven insurance plans, so most patients pay only their standard copay or coinsurance.

Lab work is sent to an outside lab such as Labcorp or Quest. That lab handles its own verification, charges, and billing through your insurance, so coverage for the labs is set by the lab and your plan, not by our office. Your visit with us is billed separately and stays in network with the plans above.
